Print design

This is a collection of work I have done as a Senior Studio Artist. In this role, I would design marketing collateral for several nonprofit organizations. Each design piece is part of an individual fundraising campaign. I would design newsletters, brochures, inserts, calendars and other deliverables as a way to provide information and raise awareness.

Alzheimer’s Association

This large organization was my biggest client as a Senior Studio Artist. I worked with a team of 10 people to produce effective campaigns to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association. Our efforts would raise millions of dollars per year. This organization had some of the most dedicated donors I have ever seen.

At my company, THD, inc., we did a lot of data analytics to find out who the donors are, what their habits are, how often they donate and how much. We used the knowledge we gained to target certain groups in different ways. One thing we found out about most Alzheimer’s Association donors is that they like to stay up to date on Alzheimer’s research. Knowing that, we would send out multiple four-page newsletters per year. These newsletters were designed by me and included articles written by our internal copywriters.

Although most of the Alzheimer’s Association donors enjoyed reading newsletters, several of them preferred a more personal touch. They liked to hear stories about caretakers and see photos of families who know someone living with Alzheimer’s. In this case, we would send letters from real caregivers, inserts that included photos of families, as well as postcards.

Alzheimer’s Association Quest for a Cure

This is a special campaign we would mail once a year to the Alois Society, which is an exclusive group of people that donate between $1,000 and $9,999 each year to the Alzheimer's Association. I kept the outer envelope design simple and used a heavy stock. Inside is a glossy folder with three inserts representing the three mission pillars of the Association. Along with the inserts is a personalized letter to the donor, a gift reply sheet with Alois Society benefits listed clearly on the page and the return envelope to mail your donation.

Another type of donor we would see is one that liked to receive cards. These were donors who had given a gift previously, and as an incentive to give again, we would create greeting cards, holiday cards, birthday cards and all occasion cards. The photos below are from a campaign that was used year after year because the design was so successful. This was always a fun assignment for me. I would browse shutterstock to find appealing photos and then work with our copywriters to add corresponding notes. These cards below were one of the most successful campaigns.

The Leukemia & lymphoma society

You've probably seen this coin collector at the counter of your local take-out joint or a 7/11. We called this our coinboard. This has been a successful fundraising campaign for years and years. In 2017 we decided to test the widely used coinboard to make it more effective. The first image is the basic coinboard and the following two images are the test. I designed the color scheme, donation box that collects dollar bills and not just coins and retouched the photo of Avery and her dog.

More deliverables from other clients

I believe that my experience as a Senior Studio Artist has helped me excel in the UX design industry. I have learned the fundamentals of design and have mastered Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Below are some examples of miscellaneous work that I have done for other clients.
